Saudi FoodTech Yalla Plus Secures $2.7 Million in Seed Funding

Riyadh-based foodtech startup Yalla Plus has successfully completed a Seed funding round, securing $2.7 million (10 million SAR). This round was led by Merak Capital, with additional investments from Khwarizmi Ventures, Isometry Capital, and angel investors from the Middle East and the U.S.

Founded in 2022 by tech entrepreneur Abdullah Alrabeh and venture capitalist Bader Alnasser, Yalla Plus offers a comprehensive technology platform for the hospitality and restaurant industry. Their integrated POS system includes features for payment management, customer feedback, and delivery solutions, coupled with advanced data analytics to boost operational efficiency.

The company has already supported thousands of entrepreneurs across 11 countries and plans to expand its reach to 100,000 entrepreneurs in 50 countries, including regions in the Middle East, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Alrabeh, the CEO, emphasized that Yalla Plus was inspired by Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aiming to empower entrepreneurs in the hospitality sector and build a global tech company by attracting top talent both locally and internationally.

Merak Capital’s CEO, Abdullah Altamami, expressed his excitement about the investment, praising Yalla Plus for creating a flexible and reliable technical system trusted by companies in the hospitality sector. He highlighted Merak’s commitment to empowering startups in the Kingdom and the region, viewing Yalla Plus as a key example of seizing growth opportunities in the tech industry.
