Oman-based IO Kitchens raises $2.8 million in Seed funding round

Oman-based IO Kitchens, a cloud kitchen startup, has successfully secured $2.8 million in seed funding. This investment round was led by Tanmia Small-Cap Fund, with additional support from family offices and regional investors. Founded in 2021 by Hisham Hasan, IO Kitchens offers a wide selection of delivery-only meals and operates three cloud kitchens, representing over 30 food and beverage (F&B) brands.

The fresh capital will fuel IO Kitchens’ expansion across Oman, enabling the company to scale its operations and extend its market reach. The startup is poised for rapid growth following this key funding milestone, positioning itself as a leader in the evolving food delivery space.

“This investment reflects the confidence our backers have in our vision,” said Hisham Hasan, CEO and Founder of IO Kitchens. “The funds will allow us to enhance our technology, broaden our culinary offerings, and form strategic partnerships, helping us achieve our goal of transforming food delivery in Oman and beyond.”

Cloud kitchens, often referred to as ghost kitchens, are reshaping the food industry by catering to modern consumers’ needs for fast, convenient, and high-quality meal options. IO Kitchens is at the forefront of this change in Oman, leveraging advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence to create food concepts that meet evolving customer preferences.

The new funding will support IO Kitchens in increasing kitchen capacity, expanding operations, and investing in technology to improve the overall customer experience, as the demand for high-quality, diverse food choices continues to grow.

Khalid Al Balushi, CEO of Tanmia, expressed his excitement about the investment, stating, “We are proud to partner with IO Kitchens through our first investment in the Tanmia Small-Cap Fund. Their innovative cloud kitchen model is set to make a substantial impact on food delivery in Oman and the wider region. We believe they are on the brink of reshaping how food is delivered and enjoyed.”

As IO Kitchens continues to push the boundaries of the cloud kitchen industry, the company invites investors, partners, and food enthusiasts to join them in their mission to revolutionize the food delivery experience.
