Kuwaiti Real Estate Tech Firm Sakan Buys Qatari Platform Hapondo

Kuwait-based real estate technology company Sakan has acquired the Qatari firm Hapondo, though the financial details of the deal have not been disclosed. Sakan, established in 2016 by Abdullah Al-Saleh, operates as a real estate marketplace across Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Bahrain. In contrast, Hapondo, founded in 2019 by Ahmad AlKhanji, specializes in real estate marketing within Qatar, offering detailed maps and photo searches for residential properties.

This acquisition is part of Sakan’s strategy to broaden its reach into the Qatari real estate sector by utilizing Hapondo’s established network and relationships with both clients and real estate developers. Hapondo is recognized for its advanced real estate marketing platform, which connects real estate firms with customers and provides in-depth analysis and accurate property evaluations.

With operations currently spanning multiple Gulf countries, including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Bahrain, Sakan aims to leverage this acquisition to enter the Qatari market. The merger is expected to achieve key strategic goals, such as expanding Sakan’s service offerings in Qatar and enhancing innovation by integrating the technologies of both companies. This integration is intended to deliver cutting-edge real estate solutions and improve user experiences.

Abdullah Al-Saleh, CEO of Sakan, commented, “We are thrilled to integrate Hapondo into the Sakan family. This collaboration will enable us to offer a more extensive and user-friendly platform, increasing the value of our services across the GCC. We believe this partnership will foster growth and enhance service delivery in the region.”

Ahmad AlKhanji, CEO of Hapondo, expressed enthusiasm about the merger, stating, “This acquisition aligns perfectly with our vision for transformative change in the real estate market in Qatar and beyond. We are committed to improving transparency in the sector and are excited about the opportunities this collaboration will bring.”
