Crealo raised $1.42M to transform the Future of Copyright Management

Morocco-based Crealo has just secured $1.42 million in seed funding. Could this be the breakthrough moment for copyright management in the cultural and creative sectors?

Founded in 2021 by Mohammed Belghiti and Najlae Zeitouni, Crealo is on a mission to streamline the management and payment of copyright royalties through its innovative online platform. This platform already counts prestigious institutions like Palais de Tokyo, Beaux Arts Magazine, and the Muséum national d’histoire naturelle among its users.

The seed funding round was led by the 212Founders programme, operating under CDG Invest, with significant contributions from Kima Ventures, Evolem, Super Capital, and angel investors. This $1.42 million capital infusion will enable Crealo to enhance its product quality, foster new partnerships, and expand its workforce, accelerating its growth trajectory.

“This investment is pivotal for Crealo, solidifying our position as a leading solution in copyright management,” said Najlae Zeitouni, Co-founder and CEO of Crealo. “Our goal is to make royalty payments as seamless as salary disbursements, providing unprecedented ease and efficiency to our clients.”

The 212Founders programme has been instrumental in promoting entrepreneurship in Morocco. Since its inception in 2019, it has successfully executed 18 financings in both Seed and Series A stages, cumulatively reaching an impressive 97 million dirhams.

Crealo stands out as a comprehensive solution for copyright issues across various sectors of the cultural and creative industries. Its platform allows publishing houses to calculate and disburse royalties with ease, enabling transitions from annual to semi-annual or quarterly settlements.

Nawfal Fassi Fihri, Director of the 212Founders programme, expressed enthusiasm about Crealo’s potential. “We are thrilled to welcome Crealo into the fold of Moroccan entrepreneurial successes. Their robust technological solution is set to revolutionize the management of copyright royalties,” he said.

With this strong backing and clear vision, Crealo is poised to make a significant impact on the way copyright royalties are managed. So, is Crealo set to transform the landscape of copyright management in Morocco and beyond? The answer appears to be a resounding yes.
