Algerian edtech startup LabLabee has successfully secured $3.4 million in seed funding, with Reach Capital leading the round. Contributions also came from Classera, along with support from existing investors Brighteye Ventures, e& capital, and angel investors such as Cedric Sellin and Mohammed Husamaddin.
Founded in 2021 by Samir Tahraoui and Mahfoud Sidi Ali Mebarek, LabLabee focuses on delivering hands-on, practical learning experiences in cutting-edge network technologies. With this new investment, the company aims to expand into the US, hire new talent, and continue developing innovative technologies.
The funds will also help LabLabee accelerate the adoption of 5G, cloud, and AI technologies, particularly in the telecommunications and industrial sectors. LabLabee plans to strengthen its presence in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) while expanding its reach in the US through partnerships with cloud giants like AWS, Azure, and GCP.
The startup will introduce new training labs covering VMware, Redhat, and Windriver, further enhancing its educational offerings. LabLabee’s platform is designed to provide an immersive learning experience, offering a sandbox environment where users can learn, practice, and test skills in a unified platform.
Additionally, the company is expanding its course catalog to include topics crucial to the fourth industrial revolution, such as telecom security, AI applications in telecommunications, and edge computing. To support its growing customer base and expansion efforts, LabLabee plans to recruit more professionals in engineering, sales, and customer support roles.
LabLabee works closely with telecom operators, vendors, and educational institutions to integrate hands-on training into their programs. This approach aims to address the skills gap in cloud-native technologies for telecom operators, offering learners affordable, on-demand labs covering technologies like 5G, IMS, and Kubernetes.
Esteban Sosnik, co-founder of Reach Capital, praised LabLabee for tackling the talent shortages in the telecom sector, emphasizing the founders’ technical expertise and deep industry knowledge. LabLabee’s CEO, Samir Tahraoui, highlighted that their platform simplifies learning, making it faster and more practical for professionals working in rapidly evolving tech fields.
